As part of my mom's birthday celebrations we went to Paris after returning from Iceland. It was a short 5 hour drive- so kind of like driving to Dallas from Houston!! My mom and I went to Paris together when I was 18 as my high school graduation present- but we had 3 days and were exhausted- those memories will always last but she just wanted another chill weekend.
We decided to try some stuff that we hadn't seen before- first of all Shakespeare & Company- this is an English bookstore near the Notre Dame Cathedral- Ernest Hemingway used to come here to read and write, during his time in Paris.
We then stopped at a little café across the street where they gifted us with a marvellous giant drink- including a sparkler- my mom was convinced they knew it was her birthday- I think they just loved our American accents.
Then it became Diane Keaton weekend- You know the movie Somethings Gotta Give? Well, in that movie Diane goes to a specific restaurant in Paris for her birthday and also has a special bridge... We looked everywhere for that bridge- We took pictures of like 3 different bridges... Lo and behold it was the main Singel bridge- Pont Alexandre.

We also explored "Saint Chapelle", it was like a fairytale- actually reminded me of beauty and the beast. It was the chapel of Marie Antoinette and just breathtaking...
We also went to the restaurant mentioned before- Le Grand Colbert- and it was just like the movie, plus delicious food and wonderful memories.
