The Greek Side of Things

Tuesday, July 1, 2014

So, Cebo Holland where I work is a joint venture between Halliburton and S&B... I am still a Halliburton employee, but as the lab manager of Cebo I need to be able to establish relations with both sides of the business. and ONE of the perks is that S&B is based in Greece!

I traveled from Amsterdam to Athens, waited at the harbor with an amazing and authentic greek salad and then embarked on a four hour ferry ride to Milos island. The ferry stopped in three different ports so it was the perfect picture opportunity!

Milos was gorgeous! S&B has their plant right on the beach and they own the largest bentonite mine in the world that is located on the island. It was a beautiful experience and as always I indulged in the local cuisine.

We had Ouzo, an authentic Greek liquor, accompanied by all sorts of fresh seafood- fried octopus (I cant believe i never tried this before- it was AMAZING), shrimp, a whole fish (with spines), greek salad with a local type of cheese (amazing), friend goat cheese with honey... okay you get the picture- its hard to keep writing and remembering the deliciousness... I wish I could eat without gaining calories!!! Channeling Jillian Michael s for strength.

Anyways, after a night in Milos we flew black to Athens and spent the rest of the trip at the Athens headquarters. That night we walked around for a bit and saw a TGI Fridays- I couldnt believe it, but dont worry we didnt go there. Although where we did end up also wasnt very authentic but i was happy to be able to order Mozzarella sticks which are completely unheard of in Holland! Complete with onion rings and buffalo wings- the only things missing were marinara sauce and ranch.
