#holland

Well, if I didn't know twitter and hash tag I would not understand that hash is referring to the # POUND sign... Lol just a tidbit.

Lately we have been doing some Amsterdam things and exploring outside of Haarlem. First we took a train to The Hague where the queen used to live (now there is a king and I don't know about him).

It was totally a ghost town. You know if ,McDonald's is closed at 9am in the USA something terrible just happened. Life here really doesn't start until 10 or 11 for shops and restaurants.

However we did see a funny restaurant called TEXMEX mexicaans restaurant. I must go meet the fellow Texan that obviously owns the place.

It's weird they have subway, KFC, McDonald's, Burger King and yet Starbucks is what gives me the most comfort. I'm never happier than when I see medusa and know a hot chai tea latte is waiting for me with an apple fritter in hand. (They also have pancakes and French toast at Starbucks here!)

On the drive from den Haag (the hague) to Amsterdam we did see the beautiful tulip fields..
Apparently I fell asleep when we passed even prettier colors.

Then we went to rijks museum. Rijks has been closed for 10 years due to renovations and the city just paid 325 million euro to fix and reopen it. I wonder why Europe has a dwindling economy?

It was a beautiful experience though and filled with both locals and tourists since it just reopened on April 30.

(Notice the new ankle boots too.. Lol)

And inside:

Creepy grandfather clock... The man inside moved!

Van Gogh and Rembrandt
!!!!!!!

I'm sure I could live here my whole life and still not ever truly know all the culture Europe contains

Those eyes follow you!!

And of course we had to eat some more delicious food ::::

Although one guy told us Heineken was for export only--- it's too American now!
